The Daily Journal — The White House issued an official statement signed by President Donald J. Trump, confirming the cancellation of the airstrikes and tactical bombing operations against Iran that military planners had scheduled for Thursday night. The decision follows a major diplomatic breakthrough with Iran’s highest-ranking leadership.
The official presidential statement notes that key geopolitical players and allied powers across the Middle East have already endorsed the final agreements.
“Based on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have reached the highest levels of Iranian leadership and have received approval, I, as President of the United States of America, have canceled the attacks and bombings scheduled against Iran for tonight,” the White House statement reads.
Broad multilateral consensus
The diplomatic resolution, which had threatened to spark a large-scale conflict, did not emerge from a bilateral negotiation alone. The presidential statement emphasizes that strategic partners played a central role in the technical and structural talks.
“The discussions and final points have received approval, both in concept and in great detail, from all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others,” the U.S. president stated.
Maritime pressure and pending signature
Although the administration immediately halted military air operations, Trump officials clarified that the broader pressure campaign remains in place. The U.S. government will continue naval operations along Iran’s maritime boundaries as a safeguard until all parties formally sign and legally finalize the financial and diplomatic agreement.
“The Naval Blockade will remain in full force and effect until this Transaction is completed — The time and place for the signing will be announced shortly,” the statement concludes above the president’s official signature.
