The Daily Journal.— Venezuela’s Ministry of Public Works officially released a list of 39 buildings slated for demolition in La Guaira state after authorities identified severe structural damage caused by the earthquakes that struck on June 24.
The government issued the order as part of a technical risk-mitigation plan that authorities launched in urban areas across the coastal state to prevent unexpected structural collapses, according to the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).
According to official information, crews will transport the debris from the demolitions to the Caraballeda Temporary Disposal Center, where they will crush and process the material.
The facility covers eight hectares along the La Guaira coastline and can process up to 600 tons of debris per hour.
Authorities said crews are working under environmental protocols designed to prevent sediment and solid debris from entering or washing into the seabed.
