The Daily Journal. — The Venezuelan government has launched a new technical infrastructure to centralize and safeguard strategic information related to the country’s energy resources. Interim President Delcy Rodríguez inaugurated the Hydrocarbon Technology and Data Management Center last Friday, a complex designed to strengthen sovereignty, data processing, and governance across the national oil, gas, and petrochemical industries, according to a statement from Presidential Press.

Authorities describe the new complex as a cutting-edge technological hub. Its architectural and systems design combines advanced capabilities in large-scale data storage, industrial cybersecurity, process automation, and artificial intelligence tools for the productive sector.

Three Pillars of Data Processing

The center’s organizational structure concentrates the operations of three institutions that play a fundamental role in the technical development of the state-run industry:

“Its structure houses three essential operational pillars: the Sovereign Oil and Gas Data Bank, which safeguards more than 800 terabytes of critical geoscientific information; PDVSA’s Executive Directorate of Automation, Information Technology, and Telecommunications (AIT), responsible for the infrastructure and security of critical systems; and the Vice Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Productive Efficiency in Hydrocarbons, dedicated to innovation and the optimization of productive processes,” the official report explained.

Visualization Room: A Key Space for Attracting Investment

The building contains four levels and features a modern Visualization Room among its principal operational assets, providing a space for engagement with international capital and the country’s strategic partners.

The facilities will allow investors and specialized companies to conduct “detailed analyses of multimodal geoscientific packages, including 2D and 3D seismic data, well logs, and reservoir studies, to evaluate the country’s prospective potential with precision.”

Finally, the Executive’s report emphasizes that the operational convergence of these new facilities will support strategic decision-making within the state corporation and the Ministry of Petroleum through modern standards grounded in predictive models and advanced data analytics.
