The Daily Journal — Venezuela’s oil exports have surged to 1.25 million barrels per day (bpd), marking the highest export volume the country has recorded in the past seven years.

John Barrett, the U.S. diplomatic representative in Venezuela, disclosed the information in an official statement published on the U.S. Embassy’s X account in Caracas. According to Barrett, the increase in crude shipments to international markets stems directly from the White House’s energy-opening and restructuring strategy.

“Venezuela’s oil exports have reached 1.25 million barrels per day, the highest level in seven years, and the result of the three-phase plan led by Secretary Marco Rubio and President Donald Trump,” Barrett stated in the post, which he signed with his initials.

Partnership With Private Investors

The U.S. diplomat linked this commercial milestone to the country’s new political and legal environment following the military operation that Washington carried out in January, which resulted in the arrest of Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

“Continued collaboration between the interim authorities and private investors is driving economic recovery and greater prosperity for both the American and Venezuelan people,” the diplomatic mission’s spokesperson concluded.

The rise to 1.25 million bpd coincides with the easing of licenses granted by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to energy companies, as well as recent reforms to Venezuela’s hydrocarbons legislation. These measures aim to provide multinational companies with greater operational control to secure crude oil supplies and help stabilize global energy prices.
