Government restricts access to La Guaira

News

The Daily Journal.— Interior, Justice, and Peace Minister Diosdado Cabello announced a complete restriction on vehicle and pedestrian access to La Guaira state beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26.

Cabello said authorities adopted the measure because severe traffic congestion has overwhelmed the routes leading to the coastal state. According to the minister, the uncontrolled flow of private citizens is directly hindering rescue operations and emergency assistance in the affected areas.

Despite the general restriction, authorities confirmed that some operational exceptions will remain in effect. Only individuals who are formally registered with the emergency response system and hold official volunteer credentials will be granted permission to enter the area.
