Fina raised seed funding from investors in the United Kingdom, the U.S., Chile and Brazil to expand its platform across Venezuela
The Daily Journal.- Venezuelan startup Fina, which focuses on digitalizing small and medium-sized businesses, raised US$1 million in a seed funding round to support its expansion in the domestic market.
International funds participating in the round included Tomorrow Capital from the United Kingdom, Square One Capital and Neer Ventures from the U.S., Platanus Ventures from Chile, and Norte VC from Brazil. Angel investors linked to Latin American fintech companies also participated.
“We firmly believe in Venezuela’s potential and in commerce as a strategic engine of the economy,” Enrique Rivas, Fina’s co-founder and CEO, said, according to Bloomberg.
Founded in 2024, Fina currently serves more than 5,000 active businesses across the country. Its cloud-based platform replaces manual administrative processes by integrating inventory, sales, accounts, and profitability reports into a single system.
The service costs US$35 per month, calculated at the official exchange rate set by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV). The company designed its technology to address the specific conditions of the Venezuelan market, including limited connectivity and businesses operating with small teams.
Fina joins other recent deals that point to renewed interest among international investors in Venezuelan technology companies. In July, fintech company Cashea announced a US$100 million investment.
