Denarius Holding Group to Produce Oil in Venezuela

Economy

Julio A. López, Editor-in-Chief.— We obtained information from a spokesperson for Denarius Holding Group, a United States-registered company preparing to begin oil production operations in eastern Venezuela. During the conversation, we learned key details about the company’s plans, projects, and preparations to begin operations in the country.

How much will Denarius invest in Venezuela?

Through Minerosol Group C.A., Denarius Holding Group contemplates approximately US$400 million in phased investment over the initial 20-year term of the Hydrocarbons Production Participation Contract (CPPH) with PDVSA.

Capital will be deployed in stages aligned with the field development plan, beginning with the rehabilitation of existing wells and surface infrastructure.

When will Denarius begin operations in the country?

Minerosol executed the CPPH with PDVSA in August 2026. We are currently completing the post-signing requirements under the contract and finalizing the development plan. Field activities are expected to begin once those steps have been completed. We will announce the start of field operations at the appropriate time.

In which oilfields will Denarius participate?

The CPPH covers the Mata Delimited Area, which extends across Anzoátegui and Monagas states in eastern Venezuela. We referred to this area in our initial announcement as CEMA. The contract is distinct from the separate Petrokariña Joint Venture in western Venezuela. As a matter of policy, we do not comment on other potential opportunities.

How many direct and indirect jobs will the project generate?

It is too early to provide employment figures because they will depend on the final development plan and the pace of field activities. Our approach prioritizes Venezuelan technical personnel, local contractors and service providers, and we expect employment opportunities to grow as the rehabilitation program advances.

We will share additional information as the development plan progresses.

What level of production does Denarius expect to achieve, and within what timeframe?

The development program targets production of approximately 9,870 barrels per day, compared with current production of several hundred barrels per day. The increase is expected through field rehabilitation, well interventions, and enhanced production techniques. The production ramp-up will be phased, with specific milestones established as technical assessments of the reservoirs are completed.  We will provide updates as the development plan advances.
