The Daily Journal — A delegation from Venezuela’s private sector held a high-level meeting in Berlin with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK). The main objective was to present Venezuela’s investment portfolio and the wide range of business opportunities currently available in the country.
The German-Venezuelan Chamber of Commerce (AHK Venezuela) organized and coordinated the meeting, which included the participation of Fedecámaras President Felipe Capozzolo.
On the European side, Dr. Volker Treier, Executive Director for Foreign Trade at the DIHK, and Ingo Kramer, President of the Latin America Committee of German Business (LAI), welcomed the Venezuelan delegation.
Representatives of the German industrial chamber highlighted the transformation currently taking place in Venezuela’s commercial landscape.
“Venezuela is a country where many things are changing rapidly today. After many years of economic decline, its radical policy shift brought it back to international markets,” Mark Heinzel, DIHK Director for the Americas, wrote on social media.
During the working sessions, Felipe Capozzolo outlined strategic opportunities for German investment, explaining that development prospects exist in virtually every sector of the economy.
Participants identified infrastructure, oil and gas, healthcare, power generation and distribution, and agriculture as the sectors with the greatest mutual interest.
DIHK’s support for the meeting is of significant importance to Venezuelan businesses, given the organization’s institutional influence in the European Union’s largest economy. The German corporation represents 79 local Chambers of Commerce and Industry throughout the country.
