The Daily Journal.— Venezuela’s non-oil tax revenue increased 22.6% so far in 2026, acting President Delcy Rodríguez said Thursday during the opening of the 82nd Annual Assembly of Fedecámaras in Caracas.
Rodríguez announced during a meeting with business sector representatives that her administration plans to pursue a tax reform aimed at harmonizing the country’s tax burden.
“A tax reform is coming in Venezuela, and that tax reform, after listening to all sectors of Venezuela, including the business and productive sectors, seeks to harmonize the tax burden and ensure that it supports economic growth and the private sector’s productive processes, while also allowing for a reorganization of labor responsibilities in both the private and public sectors,” Rodríguez said.
Rodríguez said the reform should support productive activity while protecting workers’ rights.
“We are moving toward tax harmonization in Venezuela, and we want that tax harmonization also to help consolidate and support workers’ rights,” she said.
