The Daily Journal. — Fedecámaras President Felipe Capozzolo stressed the importance of strengthening the production chains of the construction, apparel, and textile sectors to accelerate the rapid reintegration of everyone affected by the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24.
Capozzolo emphasized the need to guarantee housing and employment so people affected by the earthquakes can support themselves and provide for their families.
He also said the country cannot overlook the significant changes already underway. Venezuela, he argued, must continue to move forward and deepen those reforms so the economy can grow and, above all, so private investment and private wealth creation can produce tangible results.
Addressing possible progress on the Real Estate Leasing Law, Capozzolo said the country’s business leadership welcomes the government’s consideration of private-sector proposals, which he described as essential to promoting economic activity in Venezuela.
“The country needs a series of measures not only to stabilize the economy but also to make it more productive and capable of growing. This measure focuses on housing, but we also need to strengthen construction value chains across the entire sector,” he concluded.
