The Daily Journal.- Venezuelan oil exports to the United States averaged 451,000 barrels per day through the week ending September 18, marking a 228% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

According to preliminary data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), Venezuela exported an estimated 117 million barrels of crude oil to the United States cumulatively through September 18.

This figure represented a 129% increase over the total volume shipped in 2025 and marked the highest level since 2018, before the introduction of oil sanctions.

Venezuela’s oil exports to the United States made it the second-largest crude oil supplier to U.S. refineries. Venezuela also maintained that position for 22 consecutive weeks, while Saudi Arabia gradually restored its export capacity following disruptions caused by the war in the Middle East.

During the week ending September 18, Venezuela exported 583,000 barrels per day, a 25% decline from the previous week. The four-week moving average reached 641,000 barrels per day, a 561% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

The sustained growth in Venezuelan oil exports to the United States began earlier this year, following the resumption of commercial relations and the easing of licensing restrictions.
