The Daily Journal. — Venezuela launched the second edition of the International Entrepreneurs Congress and Venezuela Tech Week 2026 this Monday. This event connects investors, companies, startups, and regional digital ecosystem leaders amid the country’s economic recovery process.

The event runs through May 13 at the Parque Bolívar Convention Center in La Carlota and aims to reposition Venezuela on Latin America’s technology and innovation map, according to organizers.

The Movimiento Emprender Juntos leads the initiative and seeks to create a platform that connects investment funds, accelerators, corporations, entrepreneurs, and institutional representatives interested in exploring opportunities in the Venezuelan market, which exceeds 30 million people and still shows limited technological adoption across several productive sectors.

During the opening sessions, business leaders and technology ecosystem representatives highlighted that the technological gap is a major expansion opportunity for companies targeting emerging, high-growth markets.

The event agenda includes conferences, panels, workshops, and networking sessions focused on fintech, artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital health, financial innovation, and business transformation.

One of the main panels during the first day examined the role of capital markets as a financing mechanism for productive development. Former Caracas Stock Exchange presidents Víctor Flores and Horacio Velutini joined the discussion alongside National Securities Superintendent Carlos Enrique Herrera Martínez and Caracas Stock Exchange Vice President Carlos Guruceaga.

Vice Minister of Finance Calixto Ortega Sánchez also attended the closing session of the first day and emphasized the importance of strengthening new investment and financing mechanisms that support entrepreneurship, innovation, and economic modernization.

Organizers expect Venezuela Tech Week to evolve into a permanent platform that connects Venezuela’s ecosystem with international capital and technology leaders from Latin America, the United States, and Europe
