The Daily Journal. — Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Thursday welcoming progress in talks “between Venezuelan authorities and representatives of the democratic opposition” aimed at achieving “democratic normalcy.”
“We welcome the talks between Venezuelan authorities and representatives of the democratic opposition, aimed at creating the necessary conditions to strengthen institutions and achieve democratic normalcy, as well as to address the country’s needs following the devastating earthquakes,” the statement said.
The Venezuelan government and the democratic opposition concluded a first round of dialogue on Wednesday.
As part of the agreements reached during this initial round, both sides agreed to renew the entire bench of justices on the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).
